Leadership Kenosha — May 2025

LKMay6

Leadership Kenosha’s final session of the 2024-2025 year was a vibrant celebration of local impact, agricultural insight, and hands-on learning. The day began with one of the most anticipated events of the year: team project presentations. Each group showcased months of hard work and collaboration with local organizations, tackling real community challenges with innovative solutions. We are incredibly proud of the creativity, insight, and heart that every team brought to the table. A huge thank you to our alumni judges, Laura Ervin, Rob Moore, and Maggie Campbell, who generously lent their time and expertise to evaluate each presentation. After thoughtful deliberation, they selected Team Butterfly as this year’s Project of the Year! Congratulations to all the teams: Digital Cart Commanders, Roof Raisers, For the Future, and United Storytellers. You have all made a meaningful impact in Kenosha County.

Following the presentations, the cohort shifted focus to the vital role of agriculture in our region. Kenosha County Conservationist Paul Tollard and Director of Planning & Development Andy Buehler led a conversation that explored how agriculture and land use planning intersect to influence both our local economy and environment.

In the afternoon, participants took a field trip to see Kenosha’s agriculture in action. At Mighty Grand Dairy, Myron Daniels guided the group through the day-to-day of dairy farming, highlighting the care, technology, and leadership required to run a successful operation. The learning continued at Brightonwoods Orchard where Bill Stone introduced participants to the fascinating world of apple growing. The tours brought to life the challenges and opportunities facing local farmers and reminded the group that leadership grows best when rooted in community.

Congratulations to the Leadership Kenosha class of 2025 on your successful program completion and graduation!
