Leadership Kenosha — September 2025

LKSep19

Let’s hear it for our new Leadership Kenosha cohort! This group of emerging leaders began their journey with a two-day retreat designed to build trust, connection, and collaboration. Their first activity was exploring the Real Colors framework with Amy Greil, Executive Director of the Kenosha Community Foundation. Through this interactive workshop, participants gained valuable insight into their personal leadership styles and how they interact with one another, which will set them up for success for Leadership Kenosha and beyond.

Leadership Kenosha wouldn’t be what it is without the organizations and community leaders who serve as project sponsors for our teams. This year, we are grateful to Habitat for Humanity, Hope Council, Shalom Center, and the Sharing Center for presenting to our participants and meeting with their teams to set them up for success. These partnerships not only address important community needs but also provide participants with hands-on leadership experience that makes an impact across Kenosha County.

If you ask recent alumni, one of the most memorable aspects of the retreat is the team-building day at Outdoor Wisconsin Leadership School. The 2025–2026 cohort was challenged to think creatively, communicate effectively, and lean on one another (figuratively and literally!). Participants stepped outside their comfort circles to build trust, develop leadership skills, and lay a strong foundation for the year ahead. We extend our sincere gratitude to Tony Toto for his outstanding facilitation. His thoughtful guidance created an environment that challenged participants to grow while ensuring they felt supported.

As the new cohort embarks on this journey, we are excited to watch their growth as leaders and to see the positive impact their projects will bring to our community. The foundation has been set, and the year ahead promises to be both challenging and rewarding.
